Brownsburg baseball fares better in second part of suspended game

The Brownsburg baseball team took a 2-1 deficit into Wednesday's resumption of Monday's suspended game against Avon. However, the Dogs put a 9-1 hurting on the Orioles leading to a 10-3 victory. Tyler Hampton hit a 3-run homer, Jason Catron had 3 RBI, and Justin Hartnagel scored 3 runs. Macklin Runyon got the win in relief of Matt Bowman. Runyon pitched 4 innings and struck out 7 batters. Bowman threw 3 innings and gave up 2 runs. The Bulldogs travel to Lafayette Jeff on Friday and host them on Saturday at 11am. BBurg is 15-3 overall and 7-3 in the HCC, one game behind Hamilton SE for the lead. Brownsburg's four remaining conference opponents are all in the bottom half of the league. If the Dogs play like they have been and they get some help from other teams, the conference title is within reach.

The Brownsburg softball team lost to Fishers 6-1. The Dogs are 7-11 overall and 3-4 in the conference. They travel to Plainfield for a non-conference game this evening.
