Can we pitch around Carlos Quentin in today's game?

The Braves have lost both games of the White Sox series so far and have one game left against Chicago this afternoon. One reason for the losses is the Sox slugger Carlos Quentin is having a field day at the plate. In two games, he is 4-for-7 with 3 homers, 6 RBI, and 4 runs scored. He has personally added .457 games of win probability in those two games. Since a full game of WPA is .500, I can say that the Braves really need to pitch around Quentin and make someone else beat us.

Atlanta still leads the NL East by half a game over the Mets. The Braves have a game left against the White Sox and then three at home against the Tigers. The Mets have a game against the Tigers today and then play the Twins. Hopefully, Atlanta will still lead the NL East at the end of the week.

The Braves may have figured out this inter-league thing

The Braves beat the Royals yesterday to sweep the three-game series. Atlanta is now 7-2 against the AL, including series wins against the Twins and the Rays, each who led their divisions at the time. This breaks a string of underwhelming performance against the AL, with a combined 24-36 record over the previous 4 years. The Braves are off today before traveling to Chicago for a three-game series against the White Sox. They will host the Detroit Tigers over the weekend to end the abomination that is inter-league play for the season.
