Braves Win! Braves Win!

The Braves beat the Nationals 3-0 on Friday night, thanks to Tim Hudson's wonderful pitching performance. Hudson gave up 3 hits in 8 innings while striking out 5. Pete Moylan got the save, filling in for Rafael Soriano while he is on the DL. Today's game starts at 1:05.....which is right now!

Ball State's baseball team lost to Bowling Green 18-12 on a windy day in Muncie. A total of 12 home runs were hit in the game. Ball State's team ERA is 6.18, which seems bad, but compared to their opponents ERA of 8.62, it doesn't look that bad. They say defense and pitching wins chanpionships, but a 6+ ERA and a defense that averages 2 errors a game doesn't bode well for the Cards.

The Brownsburg High School baseball team went to McCutcheon yesterday and came back with a 3-0 victory. Alex Berlyn got the win for the Bulldogs. The team is now 5-0 and 2-0 in the conference. They play Lebanon at 3pm today, but it looks like it may be rained out.

Postponed....

The Braves game was postponed in Colorado yesterday due to snow. Most high school games around here in Indiana were postponed because of rain. Not much to report from here....

I did watch a full NBA game last night for the first time all season. Denver beat Golden State 114-105 to almost secure the 8th playoff spot in the West. It was a fun game to watch. I'd much rather watch a high paced game instead of the plodding games from the Eastern Conference (with the exception of the high-scoring Pacers and Magic). The Western Conference is much faster paced (with the exception of the Spurs and Rockets). The West playoffs should be good to see, especially the possible Suns/Lakers match-up.

Talk to you tomorrow!

Is it basketball season yet???

The Braves lost again last night, 12-6. At least it wasn't another one run game. Chuck James came off the disabled list and gave up 6 runs in three innings. Brian McCann had three hits while Chipper Jones and Yunel Escobar had two hits each. These three players are about the only ones that are holding up their end of the bargain on offense. Mark Teixeira is batting .167 in the clean-up spot, becoming an inning-killer all by himself. The Braves finish up their series with the Rockies at 305pm today. Both teams have their aces going to the mound, Tim Hudson for Atlanta and Jeff Francis for Colorado. Let's see if the Braves can get out of there with at least one victory. If the Braves are going to be this bad all season, I can't wait for basketball to start.....

The Brownsburg High School baseball team beat a tough McCutcheon squad by the score of 7-6. Tucker Barnhart had a 3-run homer and 4 RBI for the game. The Bulldogs are now 4-0 on the season and 1-0 in the always tough Hoosier Crossroads Conferences.

Another day, another one-run loss

The Braves lost to the Rockies last night 4-3. All five of their losses in the 2008 season have been by one run. At least it wasn't the bullpen's fault this time. The offense has only scored 4 runs in the two games in Colorado. Scoring two runs a game won't get you a win in any stadium, especially in the mile-high air of Colorado.

Ball State's baseball team beat IPFW yesterday 24-6, raising their record to 16-9. The Cards have now won 10 straight games. They play Bowling Green in Muncie this weekend. BSU will need to win the Mid American Conference if they are going to make the NCAA tournament, as their strength of schedule is pretty weak from this point on.

The hometown Pacers are now 2 games out of the final playoff spot with 4 games to go. They beat the Hawks last night 112-98. This final playoff push doesn't really matter, though. If they do make the playoffs, they get at least 2 homes games, which is good for revenue. However, they would be playing the Celtics, the team with the best record in the NBA. If they don't make the playoffs, they still get a draft pick in the mid-teens in the first round. Either way, the mediocrity of the Pacers will still go on....

Happy birthday to Hugh Hefner (82), Jenna Jameson (34), and myself (33)!!!

First Post....and Hello!

Hello, everyone in the blogosphere! This is my first try at writing a blog, so I'm trying to get the hang of it.

I am a 33 (almost, I will be 33 tomorrow) year old male living in Indiana. I am a fan of the Atlanta Braves, Washington Redskins, and Ball State University (my alma mater). Being from Indiana, I have a great love for basketball and baseball.

I'm not a big fan of the NBA, so the basketball season ended yesterday with the great Kansas/Memphis championship game. It is now time for baseball season.....

The Braves are off to a slow start record-wise at 3-4, but all four of those losses have been by one run. A few plays here or there and they could be 7-0. Of course, a decent bullpen would solve that problem as well.

I'll be updating this blog with posts whenever I have something to say. See you next time!
