Brownsburg basketball teams take two of three this weekend

Girls - BBurg 50, Noblesville 41 - Stephanie Mavunga led the team with 19 points, 10 rebounds, and 8 blocked shots. Ryne Carr played her usual all-around game and had 10 points, 6 assists, 5 rebounds, and 3 steals. Lindsey Dall scored 9 points. The Dogs are now 9-2 on the season and play Jeffersonville on December 29th in the Hall of Fame Classic. Jeffersonville is 8-0 and ranked 4th in class 4A.

Boys Friday - Avon 65, BBurg 50 - The Dogs held a 43-40 lead at the 6-minute mark of the fourth quarter, but were outscored 25-7 the rest of the way. Avon was just too quick and too good for BBurg at the end of the game. It was a brutal, physical game as Brownsburg scored 22 of their 50 points from the free throw line. Mycha Whetstone led the team with 22 points and Chase Dutra scored 10. Jaraan Lands pulled down 9 rebounds.

Boys Saturday - BBurg 51, Ben Davis 47 - Great defense and great shooting pushed the Dogs to victory in this game. Brownsburg shot 63 percent (22-35), including and amazing 15-19 from inside the arc. Mycha Whetstone scored 19 points with 5 three pointers and 5 rebounds. Chase Dutra had 8 assists as the team assisted on 16 of the 22 baskets for the Dogs. Jaraan Lands hasd 16 points on 7 of 8 shooting. The Dogs defense caused 29 turnovers and held BD to 37 percent shooting (17-46). The Dogs travel to Perry Meridian (2-5) on December 30th.
