The Atlanta Braves lost to Washington last night, 6-0. It was a pitiful performance from the offense, as no runner reached third base in the game. But, there was some good news. John Smoltz became the 16th pitcher to reach 3,000 strikeouts in a career. Smoltz threw 7 innings, giving up 1 run, scattering 5 hits, and striking out 10 Nationals hitters. Yunel Escobar and Matt Diaz had 2 hits each for the Braves. The Braves host the Marlins for a two-game series starting tonight at 710pm.
The Ball State Cardinals got back on track last night, beating Xavier 14-4. The team pounded 20 hits, with Dean Anna and Matt Stokelen crushing 4 a piece. Stokelen had 4 RBIs. Brenden Stines gave up 2 earned runs in 5 innings to get the win. The Cards visit Purdue this afternoon for a 4pm game. BSU is now 22-14 for the season.
The Brownsburg Bulldogs beat Hamilton SE last night, 7-2. Mark Conover got the win for the Bulldogs. The Dogs are 10-1 overall and 5-1 in the conference. They host Mooresville on Thursday.
Hillary Clinton won the Pennsylvania primary last night, 55-45. The next battleground state is Indiana on May 6th. North Carloina's primary is also on May 6th, but Barack Obama should win that state handily. I would also like to reiterate the comments I made yesterday that Hillary should drop out of the race. According to CNN's delegate counter, she would have to win the rest of the primaries by a 65-35 margin to earn more delegates than Obama. This is not likely to happen. I fear that the ugliness of this campaign is going to shed a bad light upon the Democratic party on a National scale. We need to be united behind a single candidate. According to the primaries and caucuses so far, that candidate appears to be Barack Obama. So, in the words of Ludacris "Move bitch, get out the way, get out the way, bitch, get out the way"
