The Atlanta Braves lost to the Florida Marlins last night, 7-2. Jeff Bennett gave up 3 runs in 6 innings to take the loss. Kelly Johnson, Mark Teixeira, Brian McCann, and Matt Diaz each had 2 hits. Diaz had a solo home run in the second inning. The Braves host Florida again tonight. Game time is 710pm.
Ball State lost a close game to Purdue yesterday, 3-1. The pitching staff only gave up 2 earned runs and 5 hits in 8 innings of work. The offense managed 7 hits, but could only get one run across the plate. Wayne Bond had 2 hits, and Justin Rogers had the only RBI of the day for the Cards. BSU is now 22-15 for the season. They have a three-game conference series with Western Michigan this weekend.
If you have not seen the movie "Juno" yet, you need to watch it. It is so well-written and is very funny. Diablo Cody's screenplay definitely deserved the Academy Award that it received. Ellen Page, Micheal Cera, Jennifer Garner, Jason Bateman, Allison Janney, and JK Simmons all give great performances. You need to see this movie when you get a chance.
