The Braves split the weekend games with Washington, winning 10-2 on Saturday and losing 5-4 on Sunday. Sunday's loss was especially painful because Tom Glavine got hurt in the first inning with a pulled hamstring and is listed as day-to-day (as we all are).
Ball State split their weekend games with Bowling Green. They lost on Saturday 18-16 and won on Sunday 9-7. Kolbrin Vitek got the win on Sunday to improve his record to 5-0. Vitek has pitched well this year, his ERA is 4.32 and he has 48 strikeouts in 41 2/3 innings. He is also batting .329, so he is a pretty good dual threat for the Cards. The Cards are now 19-11 overall and 7-2 in the MAC.
The Brownsburg High School baseball team beat Lebanon 19-4 on a cold, rainy, snowy Saturday. Mitch Jankowski got his first win of the season on the mound and Matt Steinbaker homered, his first of the year. They have three games this week, two against pre-season #1 Noblesville and one game against Terre Haute North. The Dogs are now 6-0 on the season.
