This week, the Brownsburg girls basketball team fell behind by 17 points in their game against a 10-10 Lebanon squad, but rallied back to win on a basket at the buzzer. The boys team had their Friday game postponed due to the 9 inches of snow that blanketed central Indiana. As far as I know, the Saturday game at Crawfordsville is still on, but I'm not sure I want to make the trip.
But the strangest thing that has happened over the past week is the Ball State basketball team has actually started winning games. After a 5-8 start, the Cardinals have won 6 of their last 7 to take their record to 11-9 and 6-3 in the MAC. They are 4-0 against the MAC East, which is considered the stronger division of the two. In the last 7 games, BSU's RPI has gone from 267 to 184. They have a chance to win the MAC West if they keep playing like they have. The Cardinals host Akron (16-7) today at noon. Also, the bracket buster pairings were announced and Ball State was paired with Tennessee-Martin. UTM is 3-18 with 2 of those wins against non-D1 schools. The game will be at BSU on February 20th.
The BSU women's team is 9-13 overall and 3-6 in the MAC. They host Bowling Green right after the men's game this afternoon probably around 230p. The Cardinals are 200th in the RPI.
