Bulldogs don't shoot or rebound well in loss to Fishers

The Brownsburg girls basketball team had a chance to win the HCC conference title last night, but started the game a little flat and tentative and could not recover. The Bulldogs lost to Fishers 62-45. The score was 14-12 after one quarter. Fishers started the second quarter on a 9-0 run that led to a 26-19 halftime lead. After a BBurg basket to start the 3rd quarter, Fishers went on a 15-0 run to take a 41-21 lead and put the game away. Brownsburg never got closer than 11 points the rest of the way. The team shot 31 percent from the floor (16-51) and were 7-of-15 from the free throw line. They were out-rebounded 38-21. Stephanie Mavunga played a courageous game after a death in the family this weekend. She led the team with 12 points and 6 rebounds. Ryne Carr added 8 points and 6 rebounds. Erica Lesch was 3-of-7 from three-point land for 9 points. Morgan Miller played all but the last 30 seconds and had a great game at the point with 8 points, 2 assists, and 2 steals. Brownsburg finished tied for second in the HCC. They go to Lebanon for the final game of the regular season on Wednesday night.
