Brownsburg beat Crawfordsville last night 51-42 to bring their record to 4-12. They play on Thursday at Harrison and on Saturday afternoon at home against Westfield. The games are not on their normal days due to the girls sectionals starting this week.
Speaking of the girls sectional, the Brownsburg girls teams starts tourney play on Tuesday against Avon at Manual. They have defeated Avon earlier in the year 61-44. The Dogs have struggled over the last week, getting crushed by Fishers 62-45 and barely beating a 10-11 Lebanon team. Hopefully, they will get back on track and defeat Avon. After that, they will run into Decatur Central, who just beat Fishers last night and defeated BBurg 69-53 to start the season. If, by chance, we do get past Decatur then we run into Ben Davis, one of the top teams in the nation.
The Ball State basketball teams played some good basketball but could not get the win as both teams lost by 5 points or less. The men were down 11 at one point and led 58-57 with 2 minutes left, but Akron came through in OT to win 75-50. The women had a chance to pull off a huge upset of a 18-5 Bowling Green squad, but could not hold on to the win. The Cards led 44-33 early in the second half, then went through a 10 minute stretch where they were outscored 28-7 to fall behind 61-51. BSU came back to cut the lead to 2 with 1:34 left, but BGSU hit 6 of 8 free throws to ice the game. BGSU won 80-76.
