A great game, but a sad day

The Braves beat the Brewers yesterday, 5-0. Jorge Campillo scattered 6 hits over 7 innings to get the win. Jeff Bennett, Will Ohman, and Mike Gonzalez pitched scoreless relief. Kelly Johnson had two hits and Yunel Escobar had 2 RBI. The Braves travel to San Fransisco for a three-game series. Game one is tonight at 1015p. Jair Jurrjens will pitch for the Braves and Matt Cain will pitch for the Giants.

Skip Caray, longtime Braves TV and radio announcer passed away yesterday at the age of 68. I remember listening to Skip and his trademark sarcasm when I first started watching the Braves on TBS in the early 80's. At that time, the Braves were so bad that they needed a guy like Skip to add some levity to the ball games. He stuck through the bad teams and was rewarded with a team that won 14 straight division championships and the 1995 World Series. This year, health problems had limited him to doing home games only. Skip was a big part of my life growing up and he will be missed. RIP, Skip Caray.
