I'm embarrassed to be a Redskins fan

That was a poor showing on Monday Night Football. When the game starts like that, there is no way that a team can win. The offense didn't show up (again), but the surprising thing was how ineffective the defense was in a 45-12 toruncing by the Giants. Here is the first half drive chart:

Giants - 16 plays, 9 minutes - TD (7-0)
Skins - 3 plays, 1 minute - Punt
Giants - 11 plays, 5 minutes - TD (14-0)
Skins - 3 plays, 1 minute - Punt
Giants - 9 plays, 5 minutes - FG (17-0)
Skins - 3 plays, 1 minute - Punt (Do you notice a trend here???)
Giants - 4 plays, 2 minutes - TD (24-0) (There is a trend here also!!!!)
Skins - 6 plays, 2 minutes - Punt (hey, at least they got a first down this drive!)
Giants - 3 plays, 1 minute - Punt (WHOA! A stop!)
Skins - 6 plays, 1 minute - INT on a fake FG (Yes, it was just as ugly as it sounds...)

So, the totals for the first half:

Giants - 43 plays, 23 minutes, 24 points
Skins - 21 plays, 7 minutes, 0 points

Jason Campbell was sacked 5 times and fumbled the ball once. The sacks aren't all his fault, as the offensive line has started 10 different combinations in 14 games. The one time the QB got enough time to throw, Todd Collins was the QB and he completed a 46-yard pass to Santana Moss.

Our kicking woes also continued when Graham Gano had an extra point blocked. Our former kicker, Shaun Suisham, was signed by the Cowboys and will make his Dallas debut against the Skins on Sunday Night.

The only saving grace in all of this is that there are 104 days until opening day of baseball. The Braves are rumored to be interested in Marlins 2B Dan Uggla, but moving him to left field. Martin Prado is penciled in as the starter at 2B and he deserves a chance at that spot after his brilliant season in 2009. Another rumor has the Braves trading Derek Lowe to the Yankees. Since the Yankees are one of the few teams that can take on the rest of his $45 million dollar contract, that makes sense.

reminds me of a 'game' I saw last night. MLB starting soon sounds good. FYI the NYY paid the 'tax' to buy the World Series. The check for $25.7 M is due in Bud's office by 12/31/09. Can you say the check is in the mail?
