Brownsburg baseball has had recent success in the MLB draft, so here is an update on how they are doing.
Drew Storen - Has pitched in 19 games for the MLB Washington Nationals. He is 2-1 with a 1.83 ERA. He is part of a decent young pitching staff. Five of the 6 pitchers in the starting rotation are under the age of 26. Only 5 of the 15 pitchers that see most of the action are over 27 years old. Drew is pitching well and if the team can start hitting and fielding like a major league ball club, they could contend for the NL East in a few years.
Lance Lynn - Lance is struggling at AAA Memphis this year. All of his peripheral numbers are about league average. He is 5-6 with a 5.81 ERA. Lance has given up 11 home runs in 89 innings. His last three starts have been really bad. In those starts, he has thrown 12-1/3 innings and given up 22 earned runs. But, it is not all bad.....He is only 23 years old in a league where the average player is 27. He may spend another year at AAA next year, but he should have a chance at a big league roster spot in 2012.
Tucker Barnhart - Tucker just started his season at Rookie League Billings for the Reds farm team. Through 4 games, Barnhart is batting .214. However, just like Lance Lynn he is playing against much older players. Barnhart is 19 years old in a league that averages 21 years of age.
