A very disappointing week comes to an end

Brownsburg baseball - The team started the week with a 1 game lead in the conference with 4 games remaining. However, the Dogs lost 3 in a row before salvaging a victory against Fishers on Saturday afternoon. Brownsburg finished the regular season 22-6 overall and 12-6 in the conference. Westfield won the conference with a 13-5 record. Hamilton SE was tied for second with Brownsburg. The Bulldogs starts sectional play on Thursday against Ben Davis. The sectional will be hosted by Brownsburg.

Ball State Softball - The BSU softball team was eliminated from the NCAA tournament after a 5-1 loss against Louisville. BSU started off well, taking a 1-0 lead after two innings. However, single runs by Louisville in the 3rd and 4th innings gave them a 2-1 lead. Things stayed that way until the 7th when Louisville added three more runs for the final margin. The final four Louisville runs were all unearned as BSU made three errors during the game. BSU finishes the season with a 43-16 record and it's second NCAA tournament appearance.

Ball State Baseball - a Ball State win against Toledo would give them the #1 seed in the MAC tourney, and for 7+ innings it looked like that was going to happen. BSU took a 7-3 lead into the bottom of the 8th inning when Toledo scored two runs off of Brad Piatt (who has struggled all season.....I have no idea why he was even pitching at all). So, BSU took a 7-5 lead into the bottom of the ninth inning when Toledo led off with a solo home run then followed that with two unearned runs, including a sac fly to end the game. BSU finished the regular season with a 28-27 record overall and 19-8 in the MAC. They finished 3rd in the MAC West and will be the #4 seed in the MAC tourney. They play #5 seed Bowling Green at 9am on Wednesday.
