The Washington Redskins were down 13-0 when the Chargers took their starters out in the second quarter. The offense got in gear against what was left of the San Diego defense and scored 17 straight points to take a 17-13 lead. However, they could only manage one more field goal on offense while allowing a field goal and a touchdown in the 4th quarter to lose the game 23-20. QB Jason Campbell had a decent game, throwing for 281 yards and two touchdowns. Malcolm Kelly caught 5 passes for 109 yards, including an 84 yarder in the second quarter. Santana Moss and Fred Davis each had 6 catches, but neither had over 60 yards receiving. The running game was atrocious as Quinton Ganther and Marcus Mason combined for 53 yards on 18 carries.
The only way to right the ship is to start fresh and the Skins have started down that path with the firing of head coach Jim Zorn. As I said in yesterday's post, it's not all his fault but you can't fire the owner or all of the players. Rumors are that Mike Shanahan could be the next coach. We will see what happens over the next few months. At least this season is over so I don't have to watch the crapfest anymore......
