The Brownsburg girls basketball team hosted Zionsville last night for senior night. The Dogs started the game quickly and led 26-14 after one quarter. However, Zionsville had a run of their own and cut the lead to 28-22 with 5 minutes left in the 2nd quarter. But, it was all Brownsburg from that point on. A 24-0 run over the next 9 minutes of play gave the Dogs a 52-22 cushion and led to a 78-40 victory. The seniors played really well as Leah Freestone scored 11 points, Lauren Fiscus also scored 11 and Haley Wittig got 2 points. Freshman Stepahnie Manvunga led the team with 14 points and Junior Lindsey Dall had 12 points, her 3rd double-digit output in the last 4 games. The victory on Wednesday leads to a huge conference game on Saturday afternoon against Westfield. Brownsburg, Westfield, and Lafayette Jeff are all 6-1 in the conference. Fishers is 5-2 and still has a shot at the title. Jeff plays Hamilton SE on Saturday afternoon. Fishers does not have a conference game this weekend.

IU @ BSU II, as I recall, and I do since I was there, the first of these epic battles, actually was a great game, even though the final results were a tad sad for the Cardinal faithful. Now when the home and home with Purdue is announced........
