Brownsburg's girls team beats a depleted Plainfield squad

The Brownsburg girls basketball team beat Plainfield last night 51-39. Plainfield was without two of their better players, Kasey Johnson and Julia Henson, and went only 7 deep for the game. Brownsburg took a 5 point lead after one quarter and extended the lead to 10 at the half. The Dogs exploited Plainfield's depth in the 4th quarter using a few steals and fast break buckets to take a 49-28 lead with 5 minutes left. However, the Quakers came roaring back, hitting three 3-point baskets and another hoop to cut the lead to 10 with 2 minutes left. They could not get it closer than that as BBurg ran out the clock. Erica Lesch led the Dogs with 14 points and Stephanie Mavunga scored 12, Ryne Carr had 9. Plainfield was led by a trio of players with 10 points each. BBurg hosts Noblesville on Saturday afternoon at 130p.

Sounds like Benge is having some problems. Kinda like Lebanon boys a few years ago - slated for the Hall of Fame games but never lived up to the hype. Maybe all of the troops will be ready to play by the end of the month when they are in New Castle.
