Saturday night, the Brownsburg girls basketball team beat Fishers 57-43. The win takes their record to 17-4 and they finished fourth in the HCC with a 6-3 conference record. The Dogs drew Tech in the sectional and get a little break as Ben Davis is in the opposite bracket. This could lead to a showdown in the sectional final between the only two teams in the sectional with a winning record.
The Ball State basketball team fell behind Ohio and came back a couple of times, but could not finish the job in a 61-60 loss. It was a one-point game with 4 minutes left in the first half, but Ohio made a run to take a 33-26 lead. That lead was spread to nine points, 44-35, four minutes into the second half. A 12-0 BSU run put the Cards on top 47-44 before a 8-1 Ohio run gave the Bobcats a 52-48 lead. Not to be outdone, BSU put together a run to take a 55-52 lead with 5 minutes left. Ohio ended on a 9-2 run before a last-second three-pointer by Randy Davis cut the lead to one at the buzzer. BSU is 13-7 overall and 5-2 in the MAC. They lead the MAC West by one game over Western Michigan.
The Brownsburg boys basketball team lost to Noblesville 60-35 on Friday, and 80-33 against Hamilton SE on Saturday. They hung with Noblesville in the first half, only down 29-22 at the half. The second half was not pretty as the Millers put a 31-13 half together. Mycha Whetstone scored 13 for the Bullodgs and Chase Dutra had 6 assists. The Hamilton SE game was never in doubt. HSE led 42-16 at the half and cruised from there. Chase Dutra led the Dogs with 14 points and 5 rebounds. Brownsburg is 6-9 overall and 1-5 in the HCC.
