The Braves were out-manned on the mound last night as they lost to the Marlins 6-3. Kenshin Kawakami gave up 6 runs in 4 2/3 innings to take the loss. Marlins pitcher Josh Johnson threw 6 innings and also hit a home run to help his cause. Garrett Anderson was the only bright spot on offense going 3-for-4 with a homer and two RBI. In his last 5 games, Anderson is 10-for-17 with 2 doubles, 2 homers and 4 RBI. It's nice to see a 37-year-old playing well this late in the season. The final game of the series is tonight at 710p. Javier Vasquez will pitch for the Braves in what is a must-win game to stay alive in the playoff race.
Atlanta is 8 games behind Philly in the NL East and 2 games behind second place Florida. The Braves are 4 games behind San Fran in the wild card race.
Lance Lynn is scheduled to pitch Saturday for the AA Springfield Cardinals. Drew Storen will probably pitch sometime this weekend also as he has been pitching every 3 or 4 days since being called up to Class A Potomac.
